Young Stars....   (3-6 Years)

Drama and play have huge benefits within a child’s development, especially in those crucial early years, and particularly when it comes to utilising those all important social skills which enable children to function as successful and happy individuals in all aspects of life. This class is ideal for 3-6 year olds. Children will cover a variety of drama based games, trust exercises, mime and improvisation, basic characterisation, confidence building, and drama through the use of props, dressing up, stories and fairy tales. Some simple poems and prose work will be covered for the more confident readers. Our younger members will have the opportunity to express themselves through discussion, and show and tell within these sessions. Literacy will play a big part of my teaching and where possible I strive to incorporate numeracy as well. A fabulous and educational introduction to the world of drama.

Having done a lot of work with early years in nursery and Pre school settings, plus toddler groups and parties; I thought it would be great to set up a fun and educational private class for this demographic.

Each week we will have a different theme but most sessions consist of the following:

-Learning the welcome song with actions

-30 mins of themed drama and songs

-Songs with actions

-Interactive storytime

-Learning and singing the goodbye song with actions

I include fundamental learning areas of early years in my classes such as literacy, numeracy where required, understanding the world, arts and culture and of course the social and emotional development so key in drama and imaginative role play for young children.
