As of September 2017 I have started visiting to schools to provide drama workshops to children of all ages. These could cover anything your setting requires but I always ensure I keep close curriculum links and adapt my work to tie in with any specific themes and topics children are covering in class. I can attend on an ongoing basis, or as a one off for a specific project.
Whether your objective is to improve communication and confidence and social and emotional skills; or to simply inject a more hands on way of learning in to your setting, I will be able to tailor it to suit you.
This exciting new venture has arisen in preparation for anti-bullying week. I have tailored lesson plans to suit all age groups to raise awareness and improve understanding of how bullying makes us feel and what steps we can take to rectify it.
My approach is hands on, and physical, with plenty of opportunity for discussions and questions, thought tracking and of course role play. We also look at what constitutes as bullying, and what doesn’t. The older the children are, the more hard hitting I allow it to become but for key stage one and two it is simple and informative with plenty of emphasis on feelings. These workshops are ideal for schools and youth clubs however they can be tailored for smaller groups as and when required. I also have written an extremely relevant script which some of my teenagers performed to raise awareness and money for anti-bullying charities. (Available on request).
